Toledo Woman Accused of Brutal Attack on Boyfriend After Allegedly Breaking Into His Home

A Toledo woman is facing serious charges after police say she broke into her boyfriend’s home and launched a violent attack that left him with severe injuries — including a gruesome cut to his genitals.

According to court documents, 45-year-old Jeanita Hopings has been charged with felonious assault and aggravated burglary following an incident that took place on October 7.

Investigators allege Hopings forcefully kicked open the front door of her boyfriend’s residence and entered without permission. The man told police he was unclothed and went downstairs after hearing someone break in — only to be confronted by Hopings.

The affidavit states she then cut the man’s testicles with an “unknown instrument,” leaving a deep laceration that caused “clear exposure” of the area. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Authorities have since issued a warrant for Hopings’ arrest, as she was not located following the incident. The photo being circulated by police reportedly comes from a prior arrest.

If convicted, Hopings could face decades behind bars for the violent attack
