Florida Woman Awarded $11.3 Million After Fall at Target Parking Lot

A Florida woman has been awarded more than $11.3 million in damages after a jury found Target largely responsible for a fall that left her with severe leg injuries outside one of its stores in Winter Garden.

The 44-year-old woman, represented by Morgan & Morgan attorneys Matt Morgan, Fan Li, and Perry Nava, had previously turned down a $250,000 pre-trial settlement offer before securing the multi-million-dollar verdict.

According to court documents, the incident happened on December 23, 2019, when the woman parked at the Winter Garden Village Target and began walking through the parking lot with her daughter. Trying to avoid puddles and heavy holiday traffic, she stepped near a landscaped area — right where the asphalt met a concrete curb. The uneven surface, which was later found to violate multiple building codes, caused her to trip and fall.

She suffered multiple fractures to her right leg — including her tibia, fibula, and lateral malleolus — after twisting her left ankle and falling while holding her child.

After reviewing the evidence, the jury determined that Target was 90% at fault for failing to maintain a safe walking area on its property.

The case highlights the importance of proper maintenance and safety compliance in high-traffic retail environments, especially during busy holiday seasons.

Michael Jackson Estate Hit with Explosive New Lawsuit from the Cascio Family Alleging Years of Abuse

A shocking new lawsuit has been filed against the Michael Jackson Estate, accusing the late pop icon of grooming, manipulating, and sexually abusing multiple members of a New Jersey family he once called his “second family.”

The plaintiffs — the Cascio family — were among Jackson’s closest companions for more than two decades. The family patriarch, Dominic Cascio, first met Jackson back in the 1980s while managing a hotel in New York City. What began as a casual friendship quickly turned into something much deeper, with Jackson reportedly becoming an almost permanent fixture in their lives.

According to court filings obtained by reporters, the singer spent extensive time with Dominic, his wife, and their five children. He frequently joined the family for dinners, shopping trips, and vacations — and often invited the kids to stay with him at his Neverland Ranch. The children, who grew up idolizing the star, would often dress like him and mimic his signature style and mannerisms.

Over time, Jackson became a mentor and father figure to the Cascio kids, especially Frank Cascio, who went on to work as Jackson’s personal assistant during his later career. Frank publicly defended Jackson for years — even authoring a 2011 book titled My Friend Michael, where he described the singer as a generous and misunderstood man.

But now, decades later, the family’s tone has drastically changed. In their newly filed lawsuit, the Cascios allege that Jackson’s relationship with them was far from innocent. The legal documents accuse Jackson of “systematically manipulating, grooming, and sexually abusing all five siblings” over a span of more than 20 years — from the 1980s through the late 2000s. The filing reportedly describes hundreds of incidents involving sexual misconduct and psychological manipulation.

The lawsuit also claims that the Jackson Estate attempted to keep the family silent. The Cascios allege that in 2020, representatives for the estate offered them a secret multimillion-dollar settlement in an effort to prevent them from speaking publicly or pursuing legal action.

Perhaps most strikingly, Frank Cascio himself is now among the accusers. Once one of Jackson’s most vocal defenders, he now claims he was “brainwashed” into protecting the star and downplaying what truly happened.

Neither the Jackson Estate nor its representatives have publicly responded to the new lawsuit as of now.

If the claims prove true, this case could reopen one of the most painful and controversial chapters in the pop legend’s legacy — a legacy that has already been the subject of years of lawsuits, denials, and documentaries surrounding allegations of child sexual abuse.

Toledo Woman Accused of Brutal Attack on Boyfriend After Allegedly Breaking Into His Home

A Toledo woman is facing serious charges after police say she broke into her boyfriend’s home and launched a violent attack that left him with severe injuries — including a gruesome cut to his genitals.

According to court documents, 45-year-old Jeanita Hopings has been charged with felonious assault and aggravated burglary following an incident that took place on October 7.

Investigators allege Hopings forcefully kicked open the front door of her boyfriend’s residence and entered without permission. The man told police he was unclothed and went downstairs after hearing someone break in — only to be confronted by Hopings.

The affidavit states she then cut the man’s testicles with an “unknown instrument,” leaving a deep laceration that caused “clear exposure” of the area. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Authorities have since issued a warrant for Hopings’ arrest, as she was not located following the incident. The photo being circulated by police reportedly comes from a prior arrest.

If convicted, Hopings could face decades behind bars for the violent attack

Missouri Man Arrested After Allegedly Kidnapping Middle School Student by Posing as Family Member

A Missouri man is facing serious charges after police say he abducted a 13-year-old student from a middle school by pretending to be a family member.

According to St. Louis County prosecutors, 43-year-old James E. Paulette went to Cross Keys Middle School on Tuesday and falsely claimed there had been a death in the student’s family. Believing his story, school staff allowed him to sign the eighth-grader out — despite him not being listed as a known relative or authorized contact.

When the student’s parents were unable to find her later that day, they reported her missing. Investigators reviewed school surveillance footage and quickly identified Paulette’s vehicle through its license plate. Police later found both Paulette and the child at his home in Jennings, Missouri.

Authorities say Paulette told officers that he took the girl out of school simply “to play video games.” He has since been charged with child kidnapping, a felony offense.

The Ferguson-Florissant School District released a statement to parents acknowledging the disturbing incident and pledging to strengthen security procedures.

“We are actively investigating this matter and will take the necessary steps to ensure the appropriate level of accountability and support,” the district’s letter read. “In the meantime, we want to reiterate our commitment to student safety and security, while ensuring all district safety protocols are followed.”

Officials have not released additional details about Paulette’s connection to the student or whether any staff disciplinary actions will follow. The investigation remains ongoing.

Mother and Boyfriend Sentenced After Brutal Killing of 7-Year-Old Deshawn Williams

A Michigan mother and her boyfriend will spend decades behind bars after the horrific abuse and killing of her 7-year-old son, Deshawn Williams.

Wayne County Judge Paul Cusick handed down the sentences Friday, condemning 25-year-old Alisha Hollamon to 20–40 years in prison and 23-year-old Avion Traylor to 28–60 years, after both pleaded guilty to homicide in Deshawn’s 2023 death.

Prosecutors said the young boy’s life was cut short by blunt force trauma to his head and pelvis, injuries caused by what investigators described as “a gross amount of abuse.”

Judge Cusick called the case “one of the worst things” he’s seen in nearly three decades of criminal law, revealing that he had watched disturbing videos showing Deshawn crying and begging for his life. He urged the parole board to remember the severity of the crime, saying both defendants deserved the maximum punishment.

During sentencing, Deshawn’s aunt, Krystal Hollamon, delivered a tearful and powerful victim statement, directly confronting Traylor. “Your mom gave birth to a demon,” she said, calling him “evil” and describing Deshawn’s killing as a “sick, demonic, ritual-like crime.”

Neither Hollamon nor Traylor spoke in court. Their attorneys argued that Hollamon was also a victim of Traylor’s control, but Judge Cusick rejected that claim outright.

“Neither of you are victims,” he said. “You, Ms. Hollamon, allowed your son to be tortured — and then you lied to protect the person who did it.”

Deshawn Williams was remembered by family as a bright, loving child who never had the chance to reach his eighth birthday.

Louisville Woman Arrested After Little Caesars Sauce Dispute Spirals Into $1,000 Rampage

A Louisville woman’s demand for extra sauce turned into a destructive outburst that left a pizza shop in shambles, according to court documents.

Breanna Haynes was arrested last week in connection to a January incident at a Little Caesars, where police say she caused more than $1,000 in damages.

The trouble began when Haynes asked for an extra packet of sauce with her order. When an employee informed her it would cost $1, investigators say Haynes grew irate, creating a disturbance in the store before knocking items off the counter, including a cash register and a computer stand.

Despite the chaos, Haynes wasn’t immediately taken into custody. Police caught up with her months later, on September 22, after she allegedly threw a brick at her child’s father’s car during a separate altercation. That arrest linked her back to the Little Caesars rampage.

Haynes is now facing charges of criminal mischief and assault. She was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Chinese Scientists Develop Breakthrough “Bone Glue” That Heals Fractures in Minutes

A groundbreaking medical innovation out of China could change the way bone fractures are treated worldwide. Scientists have developed a revolutionary “bone glue” that reportedly heals fractures in just minutes, according to a recent Global Times report.

The product, known as Bone-02, was created by a Chinese research team determined to find an alternative to the lengthy recovery times and invasive surgeries often required for orthopedic injuries. Traditionally, fractures can take months to heal and frequently involve the surgical insertion of metal plates and screws.

Dr. Lin Xianfeng, associate chief orthopedic surgeon at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital in Hangzhou, explained that the adhesive has shown the ability to achieve precise bone fixation within minutes—even in blood-rich environments, where traditional bonding methods struggle.

Unlike standard procedures, the treatment is delivered as a single injection. Researchers say it can bond shattered bone fragments in just three minutes, drastically reducing both surgical time and recovery.

In one reported trial case, a patient with a wrist fracture received the glue through a tiny 3 cm incision. Within minutes, the bone fragments were stabilized, eliminating the need for metal implants or extended hospital stays.

Experts believe the breakthrough could revolutionize orthopedic care, particularly for elderly patients or those with complex fractures. While the innovation is still undergoing clinical testing, medical professionals are optimistic about its potential to reshape the future of trauma and surgical medicine.

If successful on a larger scale, Bone-02 could dramatically cut down healing times, minimize the need for invasive procedures, and improve the quality of life for millions of fracture patients worldwide.

Greensboro Family Demands Answers After 2-Year-Old Dies During Dental Procedure

A Greensboro family is demanding accountability after their 2-year-old son, Er’mias, died during what was supposed to be a routine dental procedure at Valleygate Dental Surgery Center.

According to his parents, Shardé Sherrill and David Mitchell, Er’mias went in on July 17 for a simple teeth capping procedure. The family says their son was taken to the back for anesthesia but never made it home.

The parents allege they were left in the waiting room with no updates, unaware that their child had experienced complications. Roughly 40 minutes later, an ambulance left the facility with Er’mias inside — without his parents by his side.

By the time Shardé and David were finally told what had happened, they rushed to the hospital, a drive that took nearly 30 minutes. Tragically, when they arrived, their little boy had already passed away. Nurses informed them that his lungs had collapsed, despite the fact that he had passed all health checks earlier that morning.

The grieving parents accuse Valleygate of unethical practices and failing to communicate critical information that robbed them of their chance to say goodbye.

“Because of their poor decisions we didn’t get to say goodbye to our baby,” Shardé wrote in an emotional Facebook post.

Valleygate CEO Virginia Jones said staff did “everything they could” to save Er’mias and acknowledged the delay in notifying the family was “painful.” The North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners later confirmed that no dental work had begun before the child’s death, and that anesthesia was administered by outside licensed professionals.

In the weeks since, Er’mias’ parents have led protests outside Valleygate, calling for accountability. Shardé says she feels lost without her son, who she described as her “best friend.” The family is still waiting on autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death.

Rod Wave Hit With $27 Million Lawsuit Over Canceled Tour Commitments

Rod Wave’s “Last Lap” tour is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The Florida rapper is facing a massive lawsuit from concert powerhouse Grizzly Touring, who claims he walked away from key obligations and left them holding the bag for tens of millions of dollars.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Grizzly Touring says Rod Wave and his company, Hit House Entertainment, owe roughly $27 million in unearned advances after allegedly refusing to honor exclusivity terms for his live performances.

The lawsuit alleges that Grizzly agreed to pay the “Rags to Riches” star a staggering $40,250,000 for 35 shows. As part of the deal, Rod Wave was advanced $20,125,000 upfront to cover production costs, travel, and other expenses. The company claims they later sent even more money to cover additional costs, bringing the total advances to over $57 million.

But here’s the catch: Grizzly says Rod Wave only delivered 26 shows, which generated about $29.9 million against the guarantee. Because of that shortfall, the company insists Rod Wave and Hit House must return the outstanding $27 million from the advances that went unearned.

To make matters worse, Grizzly accuses Rod Wave of splurging the money on private jets and even a lavish second home, instead of returning the funds.

Neither Rod Wave nor Hit House Entertainment has publicly responded to the lawsuit, but if Grizzly’s claims hold up in court, the rapper could be facing one of the biggest financial hits of his career.

Tyrese Gibson Wanted by Atlanta Police After Neighbor’s Dog Killed in Alleged Attack

Actor and singer Tyrese Gibson is facing serious legal trouble after his dogs were accused of killing a neighbor’s pet in Buckhead, Atlanta.

According to WSBTV, authorities have issued a warrant for Gibson on allegations of animal cruelty. The incident reportedly occurred when a neighbor let their dog outside one evening. Minutes later, the dog was found dead. The neighbor claims Gibson’s cane corso dogs were roaming the neighborhood freely and are responsible for the fatal attack.

Concerns about Gibson’s dogs are not new. Reports say the Fast & Furious star has received multiple complaints and warnings about his pets. One woman in the neighborhood told reporters she has felt unsafe on several occasions due to the dogs roaming without restraint.

“It is the negligence on his part as the homeowner and animal owner, just letting them roam free,” said Capt. Nicole Dwyer with Fulton County Police Animal Services. “And now they have killed an innocent animal.”

Authorities attempted to execute a search warrant at Gibson’s residence, but neither he nor the dogs were home at the time.

The investigation is ongoing, and Gibson has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.

Federal Agents Bust Counterfeit Cash Scheme at Carolina Place Mall Jewelry Store

Federal investigators say they have dismantled a sophisticated counterfeit money operation that netted two suspects more than $300,000 in luxury jewelry at Carolina Place Mall.

Authorities identified the men as Devin Elliott and Robert Elliott III, who allegedly carried out the elaborate scheme at Solitaire Jewelry before being caught in Mississippi.

According to court filings, the pair first earned the trust of store employees by presenting stacks of legitimate currency. Investigators say the suspects asked staff to hold high-value jewelry, then returned with both genuine and counterfeit cash. While the worker counted $10,000 in real bills, prosecutors claim the men used sleight of hand to slip in fake money.

The tactic reportedly worked about 30 times, enabling the suspects to walk away with high-end items, including a $90,000 diamond watch and a $32,000 chain.

Former FBI Investigations Division Assistant Director Chris Swecker called the plan “fairly creative” and difficult to execute without raising suspicion.

Investigators also noted that the men flaunted their wealth online, posting photos of themselves with large stacks of cash on Instagram.

A Solitaire Jewelry employee, who asked not to be named, expressed relief over the arrests but declined to elaborate on the details of the theft.

Officials are still working to determine how the stolen jewelry was resold and whether others may have been involved in the operation. Authorities say the arrests mark a major step in shutting down the counterfeit ring.

Florida Man Accused of Brutal Attack on Girlfriend with Wooden Bat

A Florida man is behind bars after allegedly attacking his longtime girlfriend with a wooden bat during a heated domestic dispute.

According to WPLG Local 10, 51-year-old Jamie Michael Lane and his girlfriend had been in a relationship for seven years and living together for the past four. On September 18th, an argument between the couple escalated after the victim stopped answering Lane’s calls.

Police say Lane returned to their home, but when his girlfriend refused to let him inside, he forced his way in by knocking down the door. Once inside, Lane allegedly struck the woman multiple times with a wooden bat, hitting her on the back of the head, left arm, and forehead.

The victim screamed, “Stop before you kill me,” according to the police report. At that moment, Lane reportedly dropped to his knees, began praying, and begged for forgiveness before fleeing the scene.

The woman managed to call 911 and was rushed to a local hospital. She sustained a left frontal hematoma, possible skull or facial fractures, and a blood clot that doctors say may require surgery. Investigators later recovered the broken bat believed to have been used in the attack.

Lane now faces multiple charges in connection with the violent assault.
